Funny Moment...I love you D & G!

Thanks to those special moments when I can sit back, watch, and listen to my kids getting along with one another and even laugh with one another that I realize how much I love them!

One of those moments happened last night...

I was making some dinner, and the kids were playing in the family room.  Dreya (my total artist), asked Greyson(my total boy) if she good color a picture of him.  To my surprise and I think hers too, he said "OK". 

She then asked him to sit on a barstool in the kitchen, she twisted him to one side, uncrossed his ankles, and put his arms to his sides.  She quickly sketched him (as you will see the sketch below), and then said, "here Greyson you can have it."

He made a quick comment that it looked like a girl (I think it was the pink)?  But, the next couple comments were what made this one of those "special moments":

Greyson says, "Dreya why am I wearing a crown on my head!?"
Dreya replies so matter of fact, "Greyson that is not a crown, that is your mohawk."
Greyson thinks for a moment while looking at the portrait and thinking about what he looks like, realizing, that, yes, in fact he does have a mohawk, and says, "oh,...OK."

I think he was now satisfied with the portrait. 

They did not know that I was listening, until they heard me laughing, and asked if I could see the portrait.  I told Dreya that her portrait was very good, and I told Greyson that that was very nice of him to let Dreya color a picture of him. 

Dreya then asked me if we could frame it...I think I just might.

I am so glad that these kids are in my life!  As crazy as they make me at times, and as crazy as they are most of the time, I do not know what my life would be like without them.  I love you guys!!

Christmas Break in Utah

We kept with the tradition and flew to Utah on Christmas Day!  Santa came early and we were packed and ready for the airport by noon :)  It always seems a little more like Christmas when there is snow. 
Thanks mom for saving Christmas breakfast for dinner so that we could enjoy the yummy tradition of egg casserole and cranberry scones!  Yummy, but definitely a once a year meal :)
We got to do all the usual snow activities, a day at Snowbird, a day of sledding at Sugarhouse Park, and a few snowball fights. (Thanks Ry for the pics and videos, I will try to get better with that :))
Always hard to leave Salt Lake, especially for me and Dreya.  But, I do not miss shovelling, or waiting for my car to warm up and the windows to defrost.  We probably won't be back until after the arrival of Baby Bode :(

Christmas Morning

We got a few pics of the kids Christmas morning, unfortunately none of Breckynn.  I think the kids were more excited for the trip to Utah than they were for Santa to come.  Lucky for us they were happy with what Santa brought...especially Greyson!  Santa did him good this year :)

What a treat!  It was our last night in Utah and Branden and I went out to dinner with the Tanners, while the kids enjoyed a night at Chick E. Cheese's.  Thank you, mom, Zaylie and Lexi!

The Sparks Have a BLOG...

So here we go...It is 2011, a new year with new goals and a list of new years resolutions. The first on the list is a family blog. I've been told so many times and from so many people "you need to start a blog." And, my famous words are "I will." Well, here it is.
I promise to give it my best shot! I am not good at writing in a journal, I am not good at photography, and I am definitely not a computer genius, so please don't expect much from the Sparks family blog.
I am doing this for a few reasons. First, for me, B, and our kids (since the photo albums, and journal entries are lacking)! Second, for my family, all of whom are in Utah, or somewhere other than Arizona. And third, for my friends, mostly the friends that live around the country, or out of the country, but even those friends that live next door will be able to see what the Sparks look like on a blog.
