The Kentucky Derby...

Yes, he did!  My awesome husband took me to the Kentucky Derby!  This is one big thing that has now been checked off my "bucket list."

Everyone asks;
1) Did you wear a hat?

Yes I did, Branden did not.

2) Did you try a mint julip?

No we did not try a mint julip.  No bourbon for us :)

3) Did you win money?

No, we did not go to the Kentucky Derby to win money :)

We had an incredible time, just the two of us :)  Kentucky is a beautiful and very green place!  We were able to leave the 4 kids home with two amazing girls, who the kids absolutely adore (so do I)!  Thank you, Heidi and Lauren!

I always say "wish I had taken more pictures", but I am happy with the ones that I have.

Me and B in front of Churchill Downs!!

I really could not believe it...

Our box was perfect!  The finish line no more than 20 yds ahead!  We sat just under the cover, second box in (it did sprinkle early on).  But, the sun came out for the "derby".

The white columns are the finish line!

These are the derby horses, their owners, jockey's, trainers, etc...making a lap around the crowd before the big race.

The words to the traditional song that is sung before the Kentucky derby, "My Old Kentucky Home."

It is now confirmed, my favorite animal, is a horse!  I have always liked horses, but seeing them race in person is amazing!
They are nothing but pure muscle!  Their desire to run and to win is like nothing else I have ever seen.  I absolutely loved it!!

Been there done that....I hope not!  We would love to do it again (with a bigger hat :))!
Thank you to my husband, and AAF, his hard work paid off!!  So glad I could share this experience and have these great memories with him!
I love you B!!

Easter

I truly love Easter!  I may love it more than Christmas?  This Easter I had so much to be grateful for, my healthy baby boy, my family coming to visit (both my mom and my dad), healthy kids, beautiful weather, an amazingly generous and awesome husband, who I love so so much, my best friend from Mexico in town for my birthday, my birthday, and of course the reason we celebrate this holiday, my Lord, my Savior, my big brother Jesus Christ, and all of the many blessings that he has given me throughout my life, most importantly his own life!

It was a good day, we had family over for a little brunch (Thanks Jess for the amazing baked french toast, or maybe I should thank Paula Dean :))  It was delicious!  Wish I had a picture of your yummy brunch.

I think my kids were more excited for Easter this year than they were for Christmas!  They definitely woke up earlier than they did for Christmas...crazy kids, they dove into their baskets before I could even take a pic of them :(

Silly cousins!

It is not easy trying to get a picture of 4 kids!

And, getting them all to smile, let alone keep their eyes open :)

No way... I will not kiss Bode, I am way too cool.

Ok, "great", he says.  I guess I will.

We love Aunt Zaylie...and doesnt she look cute!

Greyson is trying so hard not to smile!

Sisters

The Sparks Family, thanks dad for taking the pic!

One more time...

And, we are done, thank you dad for always taking pictures!  I love you!
